Throttlr does not set first-party cookies
The Throttlr website does not currently set first-party cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
Theme preference
If you change the website's light or dark theme, the site stores that preference in your browser's local storage under the key throttlr-theme. Local storage is browser storage, not a cookie. It remains on your device so the site can apply your selected theme on later visits.
Direct-download checkout
The Mac App Store edition uses Apple's StoreKit and does not send you to Polar. If you choose the direct-download edition and follow a link to Polar's separate checkout or customer portal, Polar may set cookies or use similar storage for payment, fraud prevention, and subscription management. That storage is controlled by Polar under its own policies, not by the Throttlr website.
Your choices
You can remove the saved theme preference by clearing the Throttlr site's browser storage. The website will then follow your system theme until you select another theme. Polar's checkout for the direct-download edition may not work correctly if you block storage that Polar requires to complete a transaction.
